The Beginning

The story of Snowminds Group began in 2012, when two former ski instructors and business school graduates, Christoffer and Ottar, came together to share their love for snow. Their ambition was simple: to help others experience the best of life as a ski or snowboard instructor. 

​

They originally called the company "blivskiinstruktor", which means "become a ski instructor." Later deciding on something more all-encompassing, the name was then changed to "Snowminds".

​

In five years, Snowminds developed from a mere idea into the largest ski-instructor training company in the world today. With over 500 instructors per year and growing, Snowminds instructors can now be found almost anywhere, from the top of the highest peaks in Canada and Japan to the bottom of the best bars and apres-ski parties in Austria. Snowinds  instructors also shred at equally great but more far-off destinations, such as South Africa, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and soon the USA.

The rise of a ski movement in Denmark motivated us to create

Snowminds Store, a webshop that  sells the best ski/snowboard gear on the market. Each product is carefully selected by our team to inspire the Danish ski scene and provide customers with stylish and top performance gear. We also select the best for ski/snowboard instructors to ensure that they get a top notch experience! ​

Recognizing a new opportunity to help customers seamlessly book ski lessons abroad, Skimundi was created in the winter of 2014. As the first of its kind, Skimundi offers customers the rare ability to secure ski lessons abroad in Danish at popular resorts in Austria. In short, Skimundi strives to offer everyone a safe and fun experience on the slopes, with skilled instructors you can trust. 

 

In 2016, Snowminds Group sought to give aspiring instructors a hand by developing Snowlingo, a practically-driven online language course. With 10 language modules focused on the most-used essentials on the slopes, Snowlingo was created to help anyone succeed as a ski or snowboard instructor in countries where language could be a barrier. To date, over 500+ instructors have successfully used Snowlingo and passed their certification exams.

The following year, 2017, marked the launch of Snowminds Apparel, a clothing brand made by ski instructors for instructors (and anyone else passionate about snow). Our clothing brand now has two collections to date, together with an online webshop that offers Snowminds Apparel and other premier brands to customers worldwide.

In 2018, Snowminds greatly expanded its presence online with three new websites in promising international markets: Norway, Sweden, Dutch and the English-speaking world. In addition, Snowminds also took a step forward by creating a variety of new products and ski travel opportunities, including family and adventure trips to both Canada and Japan, along with ski training camps in Austria. 

Most recently, in 2022, Snowminds is now proud to offer instructors course across six continents at various resorts in Austria, Switzerland, France, Canada, Africa, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan, and continue to expand! The Covid Pandemic did not slow us down. Instead it highlighted our capability to overcome challenges, and to find the best innovative solutions for our ski/snowboard instructors to get the experience they deserve.

The Future

Looking ahead, Snowminds Group is excited for the new adventures and opportunities that await.  With more promising plans on the way, we are as motivated as ever to continue building and creating new travel opportunities for our customers, friends and Snowminds Group family.
